Portraits | Halloween

Once again Nikita was down for quite literally my last minute idea. While looking for a sweater I came across this night gown I thrifted in the summer from a local second hand store. Halloween was the next day & luckily Nikita didn't have to work the early shift & was willing to spend her morning with me.

The night gown is quite literally that, two layers of sheer fabric & we are now into the colder months of the year. That didn't deter Nikita though; nor did the -9 that this chilly morning was. Our wakeup call came fast & an obvious first stop of the day was Tim Hortons for a warm beverage. When I say Nikita is a trooper that is an understatement; not only did we shoot for about 40minutes outside in the cold but she didn't even need a warm up break! I was dressed in warm clothes & almost needed a warm up break. I think we both agree the chilly morning was worth the photos we created.

Big shout out to Jess Studios as I was trying out her flash with resulted in spooky double exposures & allowed us to shoot in the dark as we waited for blue hour to lighten up a little. I've already ordered my own flash to add to my collection of gear.
