Originally built in the 1910s the aqueduct is now a national historic site but was originally intended tented for irrigation. The aqueduct was responsible for bringing water to farmers in the surrounding area from Lake Newell until 1979.

This is one of the many places around where I live where I go if I feel like I'm in a little creative rut. Its a nice little walk & the aqueduct's symmetry when reflecting off the water always seems to bring me some creative inspiration.

If you drive the canal road you get a different perspective of this place & if you drive slow enough you won't scare away the birds on the little pond & can get some good bird watching in!
