The perfect hike to experience wildflower season

The Lake
Chester lake is one of my favourite mountains lakes I've ever been too. Not only can you hike the entire way around it but its a decent size meaning everyone can have their own little area to enjoy the views.
Its a good steady start upward & the perfect distant for a morning hike to beat the heat or a quick hike before sunset.

Wild Flowers
The wild flowers at Chester lake leave me absolutely in awe no matter how many times I hike this trail. There is such a diversity in the abundance of flower along the trail. It truly feels like you are seeing the full rainbow of colours.
Not only do the wildflowers have many colours but they also have different textures like this flower that looks like its straight out of a Dr. Seuss book.
When the sun shone down on this little flower it just brought the little plant to life. I feel blessed to be able to spend time in the Rockies during wild flower season.

Towering Mountains
When I first did this hike it was our second of the day & we were getting tired. The views as you come out of the trees is just beyond breathtaking & definitely added some pep to our step as we finished the last kilometre to the lake.
This is one of those hikes where you seem like an ant compared to the mountains towering above.
Surrounded by mountains this lake is the perfect spot to sit & enjoy some lunch while soaking up sun rays.
