Halloween | Popsicles

Halloween & popsicles are not two words you'd normally put together but after you see these photos you might think they are the perfect combination. Anyone who knows me knows I LOVE Halloween & it is one of my favourite times of year. Each year I fill my books with more & more Halloween themed shoots so when Tia reached out to me to shoot their annual Halloween family photos after their usual photographer moved I said yes immediately.

Although we had originally planned for something spooky like vampires Milia had other plans. I was nervous when they told me they decided to be popsicles for Halloween & was unsure how one would pose a popsicle or even where to shoot these photos. The only thing that came to mind was summer & a beach day. Tia reached out to the local grocery store Safeway & with permission from the manager we did planned our shoot in the frozen dessert section.

Aside from wedding photography this has been my earliest morning shooting portraits starting at 8am shortly after the store opened on a Sunday morning, we didn't want to disrupt people shopping & asked what the slowest time usually was. We has so much fun with this shoot & only had a few people shocked to come around the corner to find 3 popsicles eating popsicles so early in the morning. This was out of my comfort zone, not your typical Halloween shoot & was genuinely so fun. It truly did not feel like work. I cannot wait for their next great idea!
