Cabo San Lucas | Mexico
Right before our most recent trip to Mexico my mom gave me our old point & shoot camera. While I love bringing my camera on every adventure they are large, expensive & an extra thing to lug around. For this trip I left my hefty DSLR at home & wanted to see what this little point & shoot could do, if the quality was similar & what I could do artistically with a tiny camera that easily fits in my bag.

I found myself pleasantly surprised with how good this little point & shoot camera. It managed to capture the landscapes, plants & flowers & architecture pretty easily. I did notice that struggles of not being able to manually change my settings the same way I normally can & during those sunny midday adventures my highlights were blown out. I do think with my next trip I only use this camera for I will be able to troubleshoot those issues better.

I do think with the smaller camera I did feel like always having it with me, weather we were poolside, walking around, going on an adventure or just hanging out I didnt feel like it was a hassle. I always believe the best camera you have is the one you have with you. I will try to print my favourites from this trip & see how the quality is on that end of things but I was very happy with how this little experiment went.

As always I am a Nikon girlie through & through & my point & shoot is no different. Incase anyone is wonder its a Nikon Coolpix that I used on walks with the family dog as a teen. It even had photos on it still from when Ella was a kitten. While these are not the same as a DSLR or Mirrorless they are a great option for a beginner without the big price tag.
